Digital Storytelling for Social Change: Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Beyond

Hosted by: Domestic Violence Awareness Project

Research shows that sharing and listening to real life stories about real people can improve individual health and well-being, educate and mobilize communities, inspire people to take action for change, and influence progressive policy-making. Since the early 1990's, StoryCenter has been exploring how first-person storytelling and participatory media practices can support domestic violence prevention education and advocacy.

In this one-hour introductory webinar, StoryCenter staff member Amy Hill will discuss the theoretical underpinnings, methods, and impacts of their domestic violence work and create space for questions and discussion about what resources and capacities are necessary for organizations interested in developing storytelling effort for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and beyond.
